Columbia University empties out every semester. That is our window. Between move-out and move-in, we repaint the residence halls so that when students walk back through the doors, the walls are the freshest thing on campus. No classes disrupted. No lives interrupted. THE WORK
Our work at Columbia is scheduled around the academic calendar. When the building is quiet, we move. We protect every floor and surface, prep everything to a clean canvas, and finish with crisp lines that look like the walls were always that color.
HOW WE DO IT
Protect everything first. Then prep, patch, and sand so the finish lays down flat. Then paint, cut in by hand around trim and molding, rolled or sprayed on the large planes. Every room gets the same sequence, and every room is done before the building needs it again.
WHY IT MATTERS
University work is unforgiving about process. There is no empty building and no downtime. Every pass through a hallway has to happen while students are in class.
